आपल्या या नव्या उपक्रमाचे पहिल्याच प्रयोगात चांगले स्वागत झाले याचा मनापासून आनंद वाटतो. मोल्सवर्थ शब्दकोशाची आवृत्ती 1975 मध्ये नव्याने काढणारे प्रकाशक शरद गोगटे यांनी या प्रयोगाची दखल घेतली. त्यांचा मेसेज असा आहे….
“Interesting article. Perhaps you could have mentioned that you looked into the 1975 Corrected Reprint of the original 1857 edition. In the 1857 edition in some places the alphabetical sequence is wrong (ref. Eratta of the 1857 ed.) All the eratta including the mistaken alphabetical sequence was corrected in 1975 Shubhada-Saraswat edition. These corrections are not done in the Web Edition.”
पुण्याचे ऑटोमोबाईल इंजिनियर श्री मिलिंद आठवले यांनी जोहार या शब्दाविषयी एक शंका विचारली आहे. ती अशी :-
“शाळेत असताना इतिहासात असं वाचल्याचे आठवतय की पूर्वी मुस्लिम आक्रमकांच्या तावडीत सापडू नये म्हणून राजस्थानी महिला जोहार करत असत. म्हणजेच स्वतःला अग्नीच्या स्वाधीन करून आयुष्य संपवत असत.
तो अर्थ इथे आलेला दिसत नाही. तो जोहार हा शब्द वेगळा आहे का ?”
धन्यवाद, मिलिंद जी. तो शब्द थोडा वेगळा आहे.
तो शब्द “जौहर” असा आहे. इंटरनेटवर याचा इंग्रजीत अर्थ असा दिला आहे :-
“Jauhar, sometimes spelled Jowhar or Juhar, was a Hindu practice of mass self-immolation by women, in the Indian subcontinent, to avoid capture, enslavement and rape by an invading Islamic army, when facing certain defeat during a war.”
या आठवड्यातील तीन शब्द अलीकडच्या सिनेमा, टेलिव्हिजन, यांच्या जाहिरातीत वापरलेले आहेत.
अनेकांना या शब्दांचे अर्थ चटकन कळले नाहीत.

बाजिंदा bājindā a ( P) Clever, expert, adroit, adept, smart, proficient in scampish or in low practices and ways. Used with ambiguous implication (whether of p or reproach) like फरडा, बाट, बहाद्दर, जहामबाद, फाविंदा and countless other terms of the vulgar vocabulary…
